Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry is a department of the church that works for and through its youth. The young Adventist's ideals are expressed in the Target, Motto and Objective.

Alvo: “The advent message to everyone in my generation”
Based on Matthew 28:18-20

Motto: “The Love of Christ motivates me”
Based on II Corinthians 5:14

Objective: “Save from sin and guide in service”
Adopted in 1926 during the General Conference section

Philosophy

The target requires extensive knowledge of the message. No one can give to others what he does not have. Therefore, young Adventists must not only know the Adventist message - know that Jesus will soon return - but their lives must provide evidence that they really believe it. The motto is the motivating force of the Adventist youth movement. Without love, there is only formalism and certain failure. With the love of Christ, success is assured, because it is a love that never deceives us. The Youth Department's goal is to “Save from Sin and guide in service” - this is the true and unique motive of this ministry.

“Today we have an army of young people who can do a lot if properly directed and motivated. […] We want them to be blessed by God. We want you to play a part in well-organized plans to help other young people. ” (General Conference Bulletin, January 29 and 30, 1893, p. 24)

Mission

The Youth Department was organized to provide leadership training and provide support materials and evangelistic plans for local churches. The aim is to save every young Adventist who faces the battle against sin, striving to rescue more and more souls for the kingdom of God.

“No one despises your youth; on the contrary, become the standard of the faithful, in word, in procedure, in love, in faith, in purity. ” (1 Tim. 4:12)

Purposes

Young people can work for:

  • Other young people
  • Your Church
  • Your next

This triple purpose that God outlined for His youth has a practical meaning: "to guide in service".
